California is in a budget crisis and the fools in Sacramento are concerned about how many plastic bags are going into the trash.  It shows how out of touch these buffoons are with the real world.  The other reason, in my opinion, they don’t do anything is they have no concept of economics and how the real world runs.  It is obvious in the welfare schemes they perpetuate hoping that they will hit on some magic formula.

Then we have Washington, a more foolish group I don’ think you could find.  They are passing a five billion dollar farm bill that is a corporate give away.  In the mean time our country’s economic well being is tanking due to the cost of oil.  Why aren’t they looking into rewriting environmental regulations so that we can start drilling for oil and stop being dependent on foreign oil controlled by dictators?  It is going to take a decade to complete this move and yet our representatives do nothing.

Soon the price of gas will go so high that people will not be able to go on vacations because they can’t afford the gas to drive.  Our economy will come to a complete halt and then the environmentalist will find out how hated they can be.  If it comes to doing something and running the risk of trouble or doing nothing and watching people’s lives be ruined I opt for doing!

The economic health of this nation should be there first concern.  Instead they want the world to think they are sophisticated and worldly.  Tell the fools in Sacramento and Washington that this has to stop and take care of this our people first.

It is time for the Democratic Party to stop portraying the people that put themselves in debt on their houses as victims.  They are far from that.  Most of them were greedy, thinking that the housing boom would continue indefinitely.  When the market gave them equity they went and spent it putting them deeper in debt.

It may be the “American Dream” to own a home but that does not mean that everyone can or should.  They went into these homes barely able to make the payments based on the teaser rate.  Then the teaser rate runs out and they are unable to make the payment at all.  They were counting on the housing bubble to keep expanding indefinitely so they could keep refinancing on the equity.  Reality came home!

The number of predatory lenders does not equal all the homes owners that put themselves in default.

There is a complaint that it isn’t fair for them to lose their houses.  Why not?  It isn’t fair to me that I pay my bills and take care of my finances.  Who is going to give me a share of this pie?

The government needs to stay out of business.  This idea that you have to help people because they are incapable of taking care of themselves is an insult to people in general.  You make a bad decision you have to live with the results.  How else are people going to learn responsibility and proper decision making skills?

Cut taxes and let me keep the money I earn for me and my family!

american aristocracy

Thomas Jefferson feared us setting up a monarchy.  John Adams feared aristocracy.  I think Adams was far more prescient than Jefferson.  I see the attempt at establishing an aristocracy by members of both parties.  Some see their position in the American aristocracy as derived by birth and education.  They are members of the blue blood elite who inherited their position from the Democratic Party.  They are opposed by the other aristocracy; they derive their elitism from education, patriotism and the Republican Party.  They are diametrically opposed to each other politically but the one thing they share is the quest for power and utter domination of people and their opinions.

Each uses their versions of thought police.  Both demand lock step by the rank and file.  Neither will tolerate questioning of their positions or power.  Yet both claim to be the party of the people.  Representing the people is the farthest thing from the minds of the party leadership.

I have just read a biography of John Adams by David McCullough.  This was an excellent piece of work.  If the one of the current crop of candidates was half the man that John Adams was I would vote for them immediately.  Yet none of them are good enough to shine this man’s shoes.

Where did we go wrong?  When did we lose our way and let ourselves be lead astray by whining liberals or blustering conservatives?

socialism always fails

I set and listen to the candidates that are struggling for the Democratic nomination and all I hear are empty platitudes about changing the country or leveling the playing field, attempting to institute socialism.

Socialism has been tried through history.  With a few, short lived successes it has been a miserable failure.  Even those places were the people wanted to be there the community eventually fails.  These communities were usually based on one or two personalities, when they died or left, the system could not continue.  You also will eventually have people leaving because they grow dissatisfied with how things are distributed.  A master craftsman gives up his superior work to the community and in return receives inferior goods.  Even the most dedicated of people will lose heart.

It is impossible to raise everyone up to the level of work that some are capable of, so you must bring them down to the level of the “average” person.  It is not proper to have some people better than others in a true socialistic society.  When you have the best and brightest being brought down for being better, the society will eventually lose its ability to continue existing.

There is nothing new that has been discovered in our age that makes this kind of society possible.  We are led to believe that the Democratic left has some secret formula that they are just waiting to implement the moment you vote them into the White House.  They do not have any real plans; all they have is wishful thinking and a faith that has nothing concrete to back it up.

You cannot have a utopian society.  It is impossible, the haves resent their work being taken and given to the have-nots and the have-nots are unappreciative of it because it was not their choice.

Look at the housing projects that have been put up around the country.  Some were constructed reasonably well, some were badly designed and poorly constructed either way within a generation of their construction they had been damaged by the occupants and the civic authorities grew tired of constantly repairing them.  Eventually they degenerated to the point that the only thing left to do was tear them down, displacing large numbers of people and exacerbating an already bad situation.

Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton have nothing of substance to offer this country.  Their constant tinkering with socialism, hoping to stumble on a magic formula is nonsense.  It is irrational, to continue doing the same thing hoping for a different result.  This shows they have no real grasp of economics or people.

It is easy for them to make claims of changing society because they are isolated from the average person, surrounded by sycophants and special interest groups who are able to manipulate their time and exposure to differing opinions.  Step away from the photo opportunities and go out and talk to people on the other side of this and see how they feel having their hard work taken away to support a social engineering idea that has failed miserably these last twenty years.

I would like someone to explain to me how they will accomplish what no other country or organization has been unable to do since the advent of civilization.   How they will force people to live according to rules and ways of life these people do not believe in.  The Communists were unable to do this in Russia, they tried for over eighty years, they failed and they had absolute control over the people and society.

Regretfully they can’t tell you how.  They have no idea.

People need to be free to be.  The reality is that some will be poor and until they learn that education and hard work are the only way out of that poverty they will stay there.  If you believe that you are a victim of society then you will do nothing to help yourself and you will pass that on to the next generation to continue the cycle.
